Volunteer with Sustainable Bainbridge

Weed Warriors don’t really take the summer off—even though it’s the worst time to pull weeds. But for July 4 we recommend the Green Team of Zero Waste https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0944a8ab2aa75-green1It is an awesome learning experience and has saved the city thousands of dollars.

 

Also for July we recommend BI Land Trust first Wednesday. For July it is on the second Wednesday, July 11, 9 to 11 (because of July 4). Contact:

Parks always has volunteer opportunities, but Jeannette’s favorite is Way Point Park, the woods just before the ferry ticket kiosk. Third Tuesdays, 2 to 4, contact    Turn right on Harborview Dr SE and let Jeannette know in advance if you need a place to park. 

 

SAVE THIS DATE: Friday, Nov. 23. YES, that is the day after Thanksgiving. Burn off some calories taking down an invasive holly and take home as many lovely berried branches as you like. Then the next day they are given for free at the Senior Center magnificent holiday sale—every holiday you can imagine including birthdays.
