DESCRIPTION:Use heading tags\nand regular paragraph text with bullets\, bold\, italics\, just as you would with a basic text element \nGet ready to be part of something extraordinary at the ReFashion Sewdown Showcase. ​This year the artists participate in an all-day sewing blitz that takes place at BIMA from 10am-5:30pm\, using a curated box of clean scrap pieces\, upholstery samples\, and deadstock textiles otherwise destined for landfills.\nIn addition\, students are presenting the results of their jeans and t-shirt challenge\, where they were tasked with unsewing and remaking jeans and a t-shirt to create new styles. \nIn the evening\, models will descend the grand staircase in completed outfits before the general public and judges\, who will determine the cash prize awards. The public may arrive at 5:30 for nibbles and drinks. The show runs 6:30-7:30. Tickets are only $10. \nGet tickets here.

Please carpool and minimize your use of parking space.\nLook for the naturalists wearing neon green vests.\nWear shoes or boots that can get wet. You will be walking in the shallow water along the shore for much of the time. Tall rubber boots are the footwear of choice.\nKids are great explorers; dogs should not be brought to these events.\nRocks can be very slippery when wet and covered with seaweed; you might want the added stability of a hiking stick.

Enter through the side door (thrift store entrance)\, walk down the hall\, and turn left at the last doorway in that hallway. Magnets provided for sorting. The aluminum\, steel and other metals are taken to a scrapyard. Funds received are donated back to the BISCC. Common items include clothing\, textiles\, small home appliances\, lamps\, vacuums\, possibly bicycles (minor repairs)\, and small electronics. You must be able to carry your items in and out – no oversized items. Each event will vary on what skills are available to repair your items. We’ll update our Kitsap Fix-it Fairs event webpage with event specific information.\n\nVolunteer fixers will do their best to attempt repairs but there are no guarantees for a repair. Some items are more difficult to repair\, can take longer than we have time for at the event\, or even break more during a repair attempt. \nWhat not to bring\n\nLarge appliances\nAppliances with refrigerants\nItems that are leaking fluids\nItems having noxious or excessive odors\nMicrowaves\nItems filled with oil or gas\nGrimy\, dirty\, or hazardous items\n\n\nWhat to expect at a Fix-it Fair\n\n\nBefore visiting our Fix-it Fairs\, please: \n\n\nClean your items\nBring any instructions or manuals that you might have\nPurchase and bring your repair part.
