Common items include clothing\, textiles\, small home appliances\, lamps\, vacuums\, possibly bicycles (minor repairs)\, and small electronics. Some items are more difficult to repair\, can take longer than we have time for at the event\, or even break more during a repair attempt. \nWhat not to bring\n\nLarge appliances\nAppliances with refrigerants\nItems that are leaking fluids\nItems having noxious or excessive odors\nMicrowaves\nItems filled with oil or gas\nGrimy\, dirty\, or hazardous items\n\n\nWhat to expect at a Fix-it Fair\n\n\nBefore visiting our Fix-it Fairs\, please: \n\n\nClean your items\nBring any instructions or manuals that you might have\nPurchase and bring your repair part. SUMMARY:Beach Exploration for Family and Friends
DESCRIPTION:@Rockaway Beach\nWhat to expect when you join us on the beach:\nThis is a great free\, rain or shine family activity\, and is open to the public. Look for the naturalists wearing neon green vests. You will likely get your feet wet\, so boots are recommended\, or shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and that protect your feet.  Rockaway Beach is very rocky and uneven\, great for tidepools and critters\, but can be difficult walking.  A walking stick can be helpful if you might have trouble walking over the rocks.  Please leave your dog at home\, they can be disruptive to the critters we are seeing.  Parking at Rockaway is extremely limited.  Please carpool if you can\, and park diagonally so we can fit in more cars.  Hope you will join us!
