Connecting People to Places
Getting where you are going with a light footprint is a vital element of a sustainable community. Bainbridge GreenWays is a program of Sustainable Bainbridge focused on promoting and advocating for sustainable transportation modes on the island.
Vision
We envision a vibrant, healthy community with people-focused activity replacing car-focused activity. As we make the shift to high rates of active transportation, our community becomes more physically and mentally healthy, we reduce our contribution to climate change, we connect more fully with our neighbors, and we all experience even greater enjoyment of the loveliness of Bainbridge Island.
Mission
To facilitate people on Bainbridge Island aged 8 to 80 being able to bike, walk or roll for more than 50 percent of their daily trips rather than drive a car. We advocate the creation of an Island-wide network of safe and appealing connected trails, paths, and routes for getting to school, running errands, commuting to work, and recreating.
