This student led sustainable transportation summer club will have an opportunity to make a historical impact on not only climate change, but also health and wellness and independence of students. We will be educating others about current planning the city of BI is currently undertaking and advocating for a plan that boldly addresses our needs given climate change. Activities could include learning skills and knowledge about sustainable transportation (particularly biking) making presentations to student groups and community groups, speaking at city council meetings, school board, and the parks board, learning about a bike network for Bainbridge that’s designed for everyone— including children— and having input to the city about it. Everyone chooses how they most want to advocate for and educate others about this bold plan. Students will lead this effort and they will have the support and resources Bainbridge GreenWays and others.

Bainbridge Island (and the whole earth!) needs your voice!
